In the coming months, together with BOKU students, the organisation Gartenpolylog will be carrying out many interviews with community gardeners and non-gardeners. The aim is to better understand the impacts that community gardens have on people, neighbourhoods, and their wider environment.
Launched in Italy in 2025, the study reaches France and Austria this year. The findings will help shape the community impacts tracer, an innovative tool for community gardens realized in the context of the European project Gardeniser Community.
The methodology and interview framework were developed by Roma Tre University. To support implementing the interviews in a consistent and meaningful way, professor Laura Silici travelled from Rome to Vienna to train Gartenpolylog team and explain the background of the approach.
In Vienna a first test round took place at Kinogarten in Vienna’s 2nd district.
