Training for Trainers format

This booklet is aimed primarily at public or private organisations and certified qualification bodies and in particular at their trainers who are responsible for delivering training courses and awarding qualifications an who are interested in including the Gardeniser Pro Training Programme among their curriculum. The second part of the booklet contains the TRAINING FOR TRAINERS FORMAT and TOOLKIT, which includes a description of the training sessions, their objectives and the tools necessary to implement it.

Training of Gardenisers

This booklet is aimed primarily at public or private organisations and certified qualification bodies and in particular at their trainers who are responsible for delivering training courses and awarding qualifications and are interested in including the Gardeniser Pro Training Programme in their curriculum. It introduces to the European credit system in vocational education and training ECVET. It contains the TRAINING FORMAT FOR GARDENISERS, the FORMAT for the INTERNSHIP, and a TOOLKIT of training activities with support materials.

Gardeniser's Licence

The Gardeniser licence is designed and developed within the Gardeniser Pro project. The licence shows that the person who has undertaken the training and the internship has reached a level of competency and has skills which mean they can act in a professional role in a community or urban garden. The goal of the licence is to provide a structure that will help the formal recognition of the Gardeniser (garden-organiser) throughout Europe which is a key coordinating role working inside the community or urban garden.

"Through the gardens". Mapping of Colombia urban community gardens

Analysis of 20 urban urban community gardens in the main cities of Colombia: Bogotá, Cali e Medellín (2022). The mapping document was carried out with the purpose of profiling the dynamic and multiple reality of urban community gardens in Colombia in order to know the various existing typologies, extrapolate the keys of good practices, compare and/or integrate them with the experience of European gardens to approach a model of urban community garden relevant to the Colombian reality that can sustain the intervention and implementation strategy of the new gardens in the city of Barranquilla in the light of the GenerACTOR approach "Community gardens for good governance, active citizenship and participation".

Training for trainers GARDENISER HUB (IO1+IO3)

 I.O.1 European Format for Gardeniser Train the Trainers course:

A training program that identifies the main skills and areas of competences a trainer of Gardeniser Pro has to cover, independently of the studies and professional background they are coming from. The IO1 contains a toolkit with all the recommended training activities, lesson plans, materials and learning areas that a skilled trainer requires to deliver Gardeniser Pro.

I.O.3 Professional Training course for Gardeniser trainers with ECVET validation:

Aspirant Gardeniser trainers in each partner country embarked on the Gardeniser train-the-trainer course. The aspirant Gardeniser trainers gained a good knowledge of training techniques as well as how to run the Gardeniser Pro course. Once the classroom work was completed, the aspirant trainers were asked to take part in 40 additional hours of practical training within an existing Gardeniser training course in their own country or abroad.

Trainers' license (GARDENISER HUB IO2)

I.O.2 Gardeniser trainer’s licence:

The interactive online Gardeniser Trainers license identifies the levels of learning obtained after the classroom training and apprenticeship is achieved and the license allows the trainer to deliver Gardeniser training. The license consists of a set of multiple choice questions and is done online on the Gardeniser Hub platform (IO5). The license is translated in all the consortium’s languages. The license uses the ECVET framework and identifies the level of learning to be reached to obtain the licence.

 I.O.4 Enhanced Professional Gardeniser training for the Public Sector and School staff.

Gardeniser Hub developed a new, revised version of the Gardeniser course aimed specifically at staff that work for public services and school staff who are interested in developing and creating new urban/community gardens in their municipalities, local areas, schools, or regions. This includes municipalities and local governments who want to engage with their communities around creating a more resilient city. This could include schools with unused land they wish to make available for urban/community growing or farm projects or who have already started this type of project but want to train their staff to use it more effectively.
