Gardeniser Community: mobility in France

mobility
12 February 2026

We flew to France, to the historic region of Béarn, where, at the foot of the Pyrenees, the community gardens of the town of Pau are located. It is here that we are meeting the second group of gardeners and non-gardeners who will contribute to the Gardeniser Community survey on the value of urban community gardens.

Under the expert guidance of Professor Pasquale De Muro from the Department of Economics at Roma Tre University, our French partner Pistes-Solidaires and students from Pau are being trained in the art of interviewing.

This initiative is also facilitating international collaboration between universities. Currently in France between Roma Tre University and the University of Pau, and soon in Austria with BOKU University.

A week of mobility, meetings and training to gain a better understanding of the community urban garden and why it is a space of opportunity.

GardeniserCommunity is a European Erasmus+ Adult Education project, supported by Erasmus+ INDIRE, which promotes the community garden as a space for learning and active citizenship, highlighting its impact on local areas.
