We are thrilled to announce that the Gardeniser Community project will be presented by Pistes-Solidaires on 11 June 2026 at the 10th Global Forum on Local Governments and Sustainable Cities "Agenda 2030", hosted at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Organised by the Instituto Mejores Gobernantes A.C. (IMG), this landmark international forum brings together mayors, governors, ministers, and local government leaders from approximately 10 Ibero-American countries. Its thematic focus spans sustainable urban governance, digital innovation, climate resilience, water management, and inclusive territorial development — all areas where community gardens have a growing and recognised role to play.
Why does this matter for Gardeniser Community?
The forum provides a unique opportunity to bring the Gardeniser Community research to an audience of decision-makers who are actively shaping urban policy across Latin America and Europe. Our fieldwork offers concrete, evidence-based insights into how community gardens foster social cohesion, civic participation, and adult learning. This is exactly the kind of knowledge that local governments need as they implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals at city level.
Presenting at a UNESCO-hosted forum also reinforces the alignment between the Gardeniser Community approach and the broader international agenda on lifelong learning, green urban spaces, and community-led development.
