I am a trained carpenter, interior designer and prop maker. I changed my career into community gardening and landscaping as I find it much more rewarding and better for myself and the environment. Many of the skills I learned in my previous roles can be transferred or are relevant as a Gardeniser. I've started my very first community garden in an estate in London and, while I no longer live there, the garden and its community are still thriving. I currently work for Urban Growth, a social enterprise that helps transforming urban spaces in green spaces and creates and manages community gardens and teaches people about food growing. I love sharing skills and showing people how easy it can be to look after plants and grow vegetables. I really enjoy building raised beds, not so much filling them with compost, but it's good exercise.
