I am the 'Better Tomorrow Project Manager' for the John Burns Foundation, where I have been employed for the last 8 years. I work with a wide range of groups running facilitated sessions at Parc House and within our grounds. I previously spent 12 years as a Youth Worker which is where I developed my passion for working and supporting people. This experience has shaped my ethos around providing opportunities for people of all ages. I am very fortunate that I am able to bring my dog, Fan, to work and she is a very important part of the overall project, often having a calming influence on members of our groups.
The main focus under the 'Better Tomorrow' umbrella is our CLASH project. CLASH (Community Led Action for Sustainable Horticulture), seeks to create lasting behaviour change around sustainable food habits. With funding from the National Lottery, we have developed CLASH to provide the opportunity for people to learn how to sustainably grow, harvest and cook healthy food. The goal is to facilitate the development of new skills, motivating individuals to change their habits, thus having a positive impact on the environment and their lifestyle.
