Elena works as a Garden Sustainability Educator at an elementary school community garden, connecting students in the urban area of San Francisco to nature through gardening and environmental science. Elena began working in urban gardens in 2021, after moving to London, UK. She volunteered in the Edible Landscapes London community forest garden, learning much about forest gardening practices as well as community garden organization. At the same time, she volunteered at the TCV Railway Fields Nature Reserve, supporting education events for school children in the nature reserve. After taking the Gardeniser Pro course in Birmingham, and then moving back to California, Elena decided to begin a full-time career in community garden organization and education.
