I set up North Wingfield Community Garden in early 2021 after writing my MA dissertation on understanding the barriers to developing and maintaining community gardens by the local levels of deprivation. We are located on an acre of land in a former mining village and from a small group of 5 volunteers we have welcomed over 50 individuals in less than 12 months. As well as working for NWCG, I work with businesses to develop growing and well-being initiatives.
