I set up North Wingfield Community Garden in early 2021 after writing my MA dissertation, '"They didn't know what to do with a courgette": Understanding the barriers to developing and maintaining community gardens by local levels of deprivation'.
NWCG is based on an acre of land in a former mining village and from a small group of 5 volunteers, we have welcomed over 50 adults to participate in activities at the garden over the last 12 months.
Alongside working for NWCG, I also work with a business consultancy to develop workplace growing and well-being initiatives for clients.
