I come from a family of heritage farmers of Sugarcane & fresh milk so I have always had a strong connection with food. I got into gardening inspired by Social farms and Garden in 2021. My background is Hospitality Management and after 2 decades working with amazing people, I decided to follow my roots with just as much intent. My pathway to learning and gaining the relevant farming and Horticulture qualifications hasnt been easy and I want to make this journey more fluid for as many people as I can from now onwards, I am grateful to the Co-operative members of Organiclea for honing my skills through knowledge and introducing me to the Organic way. I still volunteer there whenever I can. In 2023, I set up 2 community farm garden projects in Mauritius which are helping people earn a steady income and managed remotely. I still consult in Hospitality. I am the resident community gardener of the Carpenters Estate in Stratford London - which is blessed with 1960's greenspace sizes. This incorporates a cafe garden, school garden community growing garden and various pollinator areas. High footfall, commercial interests, new housing developments, a high turnover of residents and a part of London earmarked for regeneration. Community engagement educational delivery and social impact are my key points of focus. I am able to help fellow gardenisers with their own projects.
